Yesterday, Palm Desert Rotarians, Wendy O'Kane and Mary Scott delivered much needed snacks and toiletries to the CSUSB students as part of our "Angels of Service" program. This service started during the Covid era and supplies needy organizations with essential goods on a bi-weekly basis.
THANK YOU ladies!

Palm Desert Rotary
Our Meeting December 2nd
Find our latest video here and all previous presentations on our Vimeo feedToday saw us shepherded to a different dining location as our normal space is being spruced up by Palm Valley Country Club. It was of no matter, as we all fit in the alternate space.
Following the kerfuffle with the sound system and video, Holly Smith (our member most new) led us with the flag salute. Immediately, up stood Amy with a clipboard (always a bad sign) imploring us to sign up to help with the Tour de Palm Springs event. We are doing many things, and all are needed! Suffering a little cough, President Priscilla brought ringmaster Tom to the podium to introduce our speaker, Mary Anne Brower of the Artists Council. He was shrouded in darkness (on my camera) as outside light dimmed his appearance.Mary Anne proceeded to tell us about the Council, its many associates and exhibitions around the Valley. She also mentioned the classes that some can take to improve or resurrect their skills. It is a brilliant group serving the Valley in many different ways. Maryalice managed to giggle the controls sufficiently to show a short video on the council. You can learn more at https://www.artistscouncil.com/videos-photos
Jim Brock was initiated as (a well-deserved) “Rotarian of the Month” for his tireless efforts behind the scenes and those in the forefront. He took the opportunity to plea for volunteers to assist with the
Zoom equipment, especially next year as Maryalice (as President) will no longer be available. Next came Leroy to announce that the elections for President 2027–2028 were to be held next Tuesday the 9th of December. He also announced that it would be a formality as there is only one candidate! Make sure to come next week to listen to Mark Stanley’s comedic Presidential bid for the seat. He also reminded us of the Christmas Party on December 16th at 5:00 pm.
Then came the ticket drawing, a plethora of tickets were purchased, and Mary Scott came out with the winning number. Surprisingly, she picked the only stone left in the bag, winning the Jackpot! She immediately donated 50% of her winnings to the club – what a kind gesture!
