In April, during Autism Awareness month, we once again partnered with The River shopping area in Rancho Mirage to raise funds for the Fenixia Foundation. This organization, founded by one of our club members, supports teens and adults with Autism and other disabilities. With the funds raised from last year’s event, we hosted a Gala in January for 300 individuals with disabilities. The Wallis Jones grant enabled the Interact Club of Palm Desert High School to provide swag bags for each attendee at the Fenixia Foundation Gala. To make the evening even more special, a limousine service was arranged, allowing participants to arrive in style at the Gala/Dance. High school students also volunteered to assist with parking directions. The event was a huge success, and everyone had a fantastic time, creating unforgettable memories and fostering a sense of community and inclusion.
